This is a salve made from Prunella vulgaris known as Self-Heal. It’s long been used for healing sores and wounds and there is a German tradition for treating mouth sores. Modern science has shown it effective at combating the HSV virus which causes cold sores and genital herpes (2 different strains). I combine this with Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) and Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) which are both anti viral and active against HSV.
